Back in May Jen noticed an enlarged lymph node under her jaw, she continued to watch it and in August a second node lower on her neck appeared. Since she was not having any other symptoms she decided to watch this one as well. In October her son’s doctor noticed the nodes on her neck and insisted she come to see him ASAP. Jen followed up the same week and a needle biopsy was performed. After almost two weeks, on October 24th the pathology on the lymph node came back as B cell lymphoma. After a long week of in-depth testing Jen and Matthew received the news they had been dreading; the lymphoma had been narrowed down to Burkitt like vs. High grade aggressive not other specified, and the PET scan showed cervical, axilla, and abdominal involvement of the lymphoma, putting it at stage 4 lymphoma. Jen started aggressive inpatient chemotherapy November 2, 2017 and continues to spend the majority of her time there. When she gets the opportunity to come home for a few days she still travels to Rochester almost daily for treatments and maintenance of blood, fluids, and electrolyte balances. Jen and Matthew are both medical professionals in the community, daughter Gabi is a loving kindergartener and son Shea is an energetic 3-year-old. Please help support the Cousins family!
